Many of the Aspen supplied medicines are lifesaving or medically critical.We employ over 200 people of which around 75% are Mauritian.We are one of Mauritius' largest companies with a turnover in excess of 40 billion Mauritian Rupees.We have a diverse workforce with over 20 different nationalities.We are liaising with over 60 different subsidiaries worldwide every day.We have supplied more than 1.3 billion packs of medicine worldwide since inception.Role overviewYou will be responsible for partnering with the Supply chain to develop and implement operational inventory management processes aiming at optimizing inventory stock level and minimizing write-off risks. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of general accounting, financial reporting, and accurate stock records. This includes recording, verifying, and reporting financial transactions, as well as contributing to financial planning activities, and performing physical stock count.Business Partnering:
  • Proactively identifying inventory write-off risks through monitoring dashboard, identifying early warning signs and close collaboration with Supply Chain.
  • Providing actionable insights and recommendations to Supply Chain leadership for continuous improvement
  • Partnership with Supply Chain to empower the organization to control and reduce write-off costs, drive operational efficiencies, and support the long-term objectives.
General accounting:
  • Coordinate and supervise general ledger postings, and in reconciling accounts using accounting tools.
  • Responsible for working capital cycles including inventory, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Responsible for CAPEX management.
  • Responsible for financial health/ hygiene of accountings records by ensuring solid processes with adequate upstream controls
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures in line with best industry practice and statutory requirements.
  • Partner with the internal control’s team for risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Statutory Financial Reporting:
  • Provide technical accounting support and ensure compliance with IFRS
  • Responsible for month end and year end closing activities, including group reporting
  • Plan and coordinate month end and year end activities with wider Finance teams to achieve accurate and timely month end close.
  • Analysis of financial information and translating into actionable executive summaries.
  • Responsible for year end group reporting submission and produce relevant disclosure for annual financial statements
Financial planning and controlling:
  • Responsible for annual budget process by partnering with key business owners across the organisation
  • Measure the financial performance such as actuals vs budget analysis periodically and communicate clear results to Senior Management and Executives.
  • Build strong relationship with Internal stakeholders, ensure understanding of their operational KPIs, performance targets and organization structure.
  • Anticipate risk and opportunities, devise corrective measures and proactively reporting to Senior Management
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support on ad-hoc requests from the Line Manager and Senior Management
  • Partner with the internal controls team for draft SOPs and circulating with business streams
  • Onboard and coach team new members on work processes and applicable systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Fully qualified ACCA/ ACA/CIMA or equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years broad-based Finance experience including general accounting and reporting operations
  • Multinational exposure and audit practice is an advantage
